Handwriting and keepsake engraving
A note in someone's handwriting
A recipe card, a line from a letter, a signature. We trace the real handwriting rather than swapping in a font that looks a bit like it.

Bring your own
Got a board you already love, or one that came from someone who mattered? Post it or drop it in. You only pay for the design and the work.
The fine print: we're careful, but engraving is permanent and we can't replace a board you supplied. We'll always tell you upfront if we think something's risky. Oiled, waxed and very dark timbers are the usual culprits.

We keep bamboo and hardwood boards in a few shapes and sizes that we know engrave beautifully. Tell us roughly how big and we'll quote it with the artwork.

Boards & platters questions
Yes. Engraving removes a thin layer of timber, it doesn't add anything. Hand-wash and re-oil occasionally like any good board and it'll outlive the occasion.
Yes, and it's the thing people cry over. Photograph the note flat in daylight and send it through — pencil, biro or fountain pen all work. We trace the real thing rather than substituting a lookalike font.
Bamboo and lighter hardwoods give the strongest contrast. Very dark, oiled or heavily waxed boards engrave faintly — we'll tell you before we start, not after.
Usually yes. Handy if you want the pretty design on one face and a message on the other. Adds to the quote.
You'll have a price and an approach from us quickly, then artwork for your approval. Once you've approved it we make it, usually within the week, depending on what's in stock. Allow up to two weeks for Australia Post on top. Pick-up is available in Rockhampton.
